Prepare yourself for a real slow-life experience. Only 18 km from the city centre of Pretoria lies this gem of virtually unspoilt bushveld where the morning calls of crimson-breasted shrikes, guineafowls and bush partridges wake you. At night the occasional calls of jackals deepen the sense of being part of nature. Amongst the acacia trees and next to a campfire you will experience a peace and tranquillity unknown so close to a big, modern city.

Littlebushveld is established on a smallholding with a number of self-catering chalets that offer the comfort and amenities you enjoy at home with an equipped kitchenette in every chalet, bathroom for your private use, shaded areas to sit and relax and with equipped braai areas.

We also offer a bush camp with a very private setting to enhance the bush atmosphere. Here you are guaranteed a 'bush experience' unheard of so close to a big modern city with a small en-suite bathroom for night-use as well as an outside bush-shower in a wood-fenced boma under a tree providing an exciting shower experience, very private, the birds will, however, be able to observe.

Littlebushveld is situated next to the fence of a 3,000-hectare farm. Very quiet and safe environment protected by electrified perimeter fencing. Shaded and safe parking. Our facilities are for those who want to take a quiet, slow-life break from the rushed modern life and just want to enjoy the peaceful bushveld environment.

A very relaxing time is a definite promise!

The crimson-breasted shrike (Laniarius atrococcineus) or the crimson-breasted gonolek, is a Southern African bird. It has black upper parts with a white flash on the wing, and bright scarlet underparts. The International Union for Conservation of Nature has rated it as a Least-concern species.

The sexes have the same colouration and are indistinguishable from each other. The upper parts, including the wings and tail, are black, the wings having a broad white bar. The underparts are vivid scarlet. A yellow-breasted form is occasionally seen and was at first thought to be a separate species. Young birds have a mottled and barred buff-brown appearance with a pale bill.

This shrike is extremely nimble and restless, its penetrating whistles often being the first sign of its presence, although it is not a shy species.

The crimson-breasted shrike is non-migratory and occurs in a broad swathe from southern Angola to the Free State province in South Africa. Its preferred habitat is drier thornbush areas, in thickets and riparian scrub. It makes small seasonal migrations, preferring lower altitudes during cold periods.

The Duiker Chalet is a two-bedroom chalet with full amenities and sleeps four people. Furnished with a double bed in the main bedroom and two single beds in the second bedroom, wardrobes, a small dining table, chairs, and lounge chairs. There is also a fridge with a separate freezer, TV, kitchenette with a 3-plate stove and oven, and a microwave oven. Shaded parking is available. TV with an OpenView decoder.

The Guineafowl Chalet is a beautiful and spacious 7m x 4m single-room thatched chalet that sleeps two people. Furnished with a king-size bed, wardrobe, dressing table, dining table and chairs. Also, fridge, kitchenette with 3-plate stove and oven, and a microwave oven. A secluded outside area to relax and braai under big shade trees. Adjacent thatched ablution, for your private use only, separate from the chalet with toilet, washbasin and shower. Shaded parking. TV with an OpenView decoder. A securely fenced and large courtyard extends to the adjacent game farm's fence with a braai-ring next to the fence.

The Impala Chalet is a spacious two-bedroom house with full amenities that sleeps six people. Furnished with a double bed in the main private bedroom, two single beds in the second private bedroom, a further two single beds in the lounge, wardrobes, dressing tables, dining table and chairs and lounge suite. Also, a fridge with a separate freezer, a full kitchen with a four-plate stove and oven, and a microwave oven. A securely fenced and large courtyard extends to the adjacent game farm's fence with a braai-ring next to the fence. Shaded parking. TV with an OpenView decoder.

The Meerkat Chalet can sleep two people in single beds. It has a small fridge, breakfast nook, 2-plate stove and a microwave oven. There is also an en-suite bathroom with a toilet, washbasin and shower. TV with an OpenView decoder. You can relax in an outside area and braai. Shaded parking is available.

The Partridge Chalet is a beautiful 5m x 4m thatched chalet. It has a double bed, small fridge, breakfast nook, two-plate stove, a small convection oven, and a microwave oven. It has an en-suite bathroom with a toilet, washbasin and a shower. TV with an OpenView decoder. Outside is a patio where you can relax and braai. Shaded parking is available for your vehicle.

This very secluded chalet has facilities to enhance the "bush atmosphere" often so sought after. Situated in a private and fenced area of about 2,000 m² bordering the adjacent cattle farm. A big L-shaped single-room cottage (±20 m²) with a double bed. It has a small en-suite bathroom for night use and an outside split-pole fenced "bush shower" under an acacia tree, but very private – the birds will, however, be able to observe! :-)

This facility is for those who still want modern facilities but in a bush environment and are adamant about absolute privacy. There is NO TV in this chalet!

The Kiepersol Chalet is a beautiful 6m x 4m thatched chalet. It has a double bed, full fridge with a separate freezer, breakfast nook, two-plate stove with a small convection oven and a microwave oven. There is also an en-suite bathroom with a toilet, washbasin and shower. TV with an OpenView decoder.

The Skuurtjie Chalet is a beautiful 6m x 4m furnished chalet that sleeps two people. It has a small fridge, breakfast table, and two-plate gas stove. It has an ensuite bathroom with a toilet, washbasin and shower. TV with an OppenView decoder. There is an annexe to Skuurtjie comprising of two rooms that can sleep up to four people with access to a shower and toilet. There is also a patio outside to relax and braai.

The Kudu Chalet is a spacious two-bedroom house with full amenities and can sleep up to seven people in single beds, wardrobes, dining table and chairs and lounge suite. Also full fridge with a separate freezer, a kitchen with a four-plate stove and oven, and a microwave oven. TV with an OpenView decoder.
